MSNBC – Tests confirm ricin in Senate mailroom
Tests have confirmed that a white powder found in a mailroom in Senate Majority Leader Bill Fristâs office is the deadly poison ricin, the Tennessee Republican announced Tuesday on the Senate floor. Three Senate office buildings remained closed as other mail was removed for testing.
It’s rather amazing that, with all the precautions that are being taken with congressional mail, that this stuff is still getting through.

Well, they never caught anyone for the anthrax mail, and that was ages ago. Paul's right - even with all the various bomb-, drug-, and poison-detecting gear the USPS (and the airports that move the mail) has been buying, it's frighteningly easy to find something dangerous they don't scan for.
There are things we can't be protected from.
