SNOW ECONOMICS
From the NYT story on the snowstorm that’s hit the East Coast:
Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg said that snow removal would cost $1 million per inch, but that the Sanitation Department was standing by with 212,000 tons of salt.
How could it POSSIBLY cost $1 million per inch to remove snow? I moved several billion dollars worth from my driveway this morning in less than 20 minutes.

Ah.
Drat--I was hoping for a new career as a snow remover. I'd be willing to do it for $100,000 an inch, which would really have undercut the market.

Thank god for unions.
He could just wait for the much cheaper alternative. We call it "Spring"
