Whites get breaks all the time and sometimes this has disastrous consequences. That's true regardless of whether anyone is willing to admit that they gave Hanssen too many chances simply because he fit the profile of someone they trusted.

(By the way, I should add that Mickey's statement came before Raines confessed anyway. He *automatically* assumed that the whole affair was due to race, and that's the part that bothers me. Why can he make a statement like that about a black guy before there's any evidence, while no one *ever* makes that kind of a comment when a white guy screws up?)

Is this such an utterly flawed supposition that you have to resort to fabricating events that never happened to support a preconceived conclusion? You seem to do that by making statements unsupported by any facts and then deeming them "obvious".

The FBI, as do most government organizations, seem to promote based on little more than length of tenure and the ability to avoid getting into trouble or pissing off the boss. That is not affirmative action for WHITEY, that is bureaucratic career inertia.

How you can take two absolutely unrelated events and then stitch them together to minimize the wrong that is affirmative action? Your claim of white privilege rather than incompetency at the FBI is beyond any level of honest discourse on the subject.
