Sorry for the lack of posting. My Internet connection has been down all day. Not sure why it’s back up now, to be honest, since Cox claims it’s not on their end and I haven’t done anything on my end to fix it.

He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. This usually means the problem was their fault and immensely stupid.

The idea is that if they say "it's not on our end", you will do something on *your* end, and think whatever YOU did fixed it.

Generally, an ISP does this when they are embarrassed to explain the problem. Like "someone decided to warm up a ham sandwich by placing it on top of the router's ventilation grille, so the router overheated and shut down".

Indeed. They said they'd send out a tech Friday afternoon. Needless to say, I was less than pleased.
