Stories I Don’t Care About

Perhaps it’s just because I’m still feeling rather lousy, but I simply can’t work up any excitement over the fact that three CBS execs are hiring lawyers rather than resigning. According to Memeorandum, nine other bloggers cared enough to comment on the story, so it must be more important than I think.

The Jeff Gannon/James Dale Guckert story and its counterpart, the Russell Mokhiber saga, simply don’t do it for me either, nude gay Internet porn notwithstanding. If bloggers I’ve never heard of can get press credentials to cover the presidential nominating conventions, why shouldn’t ideological nerdnics get to ask Scott McClellan some questions?

About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife and infant daughter.
