Study: Not All Lowfat Diets Are Equal

A groundbreaking new study has found that eating lots of fruits and vegetables is better for you than eating processed foods.

Study: Not All Lowfat Diets Are Equal (WaPo - AP)

Eating a lowfat diet packed with nutritious vegetables, fruit, beans and whole grains reduces levels of “bad” cholesterol twice as much as eating a lowfat diet that’s heavy on prepackaged foods, a small study has found.

Fruit and veg diet best for beating cholesterol
(London Daily Telegraph)

A low-fat diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables is twice as successful at lowering cholesterol than a low-fat diet alone, new research shows. The study showed, for example, that a meal of spinach salad, egg and oatmeal carrot biscuits is better for the heart than a meal of stir-fried beef and asparagus and a low-fat chocolate chip cookie.

Shocking. The next thing they’ll tell me is that eating nothing but chain restaurant submarine sandwiches is not the ideal way to lose weight.

I’m currently conducting a study to determine whether all studies are equally useful.

These studies should all be taken with a grain of salt. BTW, one of the latest studies show that salt is good for you. Low salt diets increase mortality.
