how about one on the "separation of Church and state" if it's true - and since taxation is control -should the government be disallowed (IRS) from ever taxing a church - even if it does talk and encourage politics. Hell do they tax 527s?

A recurring series that expounds on each paragraph in the US Constitution -- its origins, intent, current interpretation, significance today -- in a roughly 800 word essay would be useful.

A recurring series that collectively offers a primer on the military and its command structures.

I would like to see more watchdog articles on the MSM and presidential election. Where they get it wrong, get it right, tell only part of the story or the case where the 'dog didn't bark'. In short, the presidential election as it is not covered by the MSM.
While we definitely need these kinds of articles on the web, I'm not sure it necessarily fits well with the tone of OTB. Perhaps another spin-off site like OTB Sports or Gone Hollywood would be a better venue for media watchdog articles.

I'd also like to see some posts talking about internal politics of other countries. Iraq would be an easy one, but there's enough political turmoil in places like Russia and Pakistan, if you've got anyone who either is familiar with those or can dig up enough info to write an interesting piece on them.

I think it would be great to have a weekly or monthly "political Science Lesson" in which one of the contributors explains a facet of of politics an government. An example would be an article on the necessity and application of the fourth amendment, or about the concept of rights, or a piece concerning the electoral college. Just a thought.
I like that, it's like college without the final exams or tuition fees. Picking a topic related to current events would make it especially informative.
