No major event? You haven't been to Comic-Con, have you? :)

Last year, 100,000 attendees. This year we may well shatter the record. Books get released, movies announced, and tv shows screened. ABC's Lost first aired at Comic-Con. It is the largest popular arts convention in the world. You want to bring attention to the release of stamps paying honor to comicbook heroes, there is no better place than the San Diego Comic-Con.

Just a comicbook convention. That's like calling the Golden Gate just a bridge.

Presumably, the Marvel characters, including Spiderman, Hulk, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men will be in the next wave.

Not the X-Men. Too gay-friendly. James Dobson would be very upset.
