And furthermore, whether the swim club is strictly for Jewish people are not, the members of that swim club had no right to make racist remarks in the company of those children. Letting a child hear you talk about your fears that black children may harm your child or steal your belongings is downright mean and hurtful. I'd like to hear what Ms. Mason thinks about that. Open your eyes and admit that racism played a role in this situation and get off your high horse.

I think that the individual who is responsible for the last post is being foolish. These are little children we are talking about! You act as though these are adults that have no business being a part of this swim club. What problem could you possibly have with children enjoying their time at the pool? It doesn't matter if their Jewish, Chinese, Black, whatever. Ms. Mason clearly has a problem with minority children if she feels threatened enough to leave. Anyone who would leave because of a group of minority children or pull their children out because of them is an absolute FOOL.

um hello? this "swim club" is actually located inside a JEWISH community center. How many black jewish people do you know? i dont know any....i dont have a membership there, but if i were paying for one, i'd have to cancel it or ask for my money back. anyway, why is this the first summer this has been a problem? is the jewish center suddenly low on membership due to the economy therefore taking signups from non jewish people? THAT should be the issue at hand here, not turning it into a whole racism thing...puleeze!

The president of the swimming club said verbatim that the influx of minorities would change the "complexion" of the atmosphere. End of story. For everyone who even whispers of racism being dead...think again and enlighten yourself.

He overstepped his authority (out of the goodness of his heart) by inviting 3 separate camps to send their kids to swim at bargain prices:

60 kids @ $1900 = $30 per kid to swim once a week for 8 weeks!!!!!

I guess he'll remember his lesson to not try to be nice to poor kids...

The sad thing here is that a small business owner and his wife have been tried, convicted and executed in the press.

From seeing all the interviews it's obvious that the President of the swim club was did this because his PAYING members complained about the overcrowding.

He overstepped his authority (out of the goodness of his heart) by inviting 3 separate camps to send their kids to swim at bargain prices:

60 kids @ $1900 = $30 per kid to swim once a week for 8 weeks!!!!!

Normally you pay this much for a day where I live.

I guess he'll remember his lesson to not try to be nice to poor kids because their leaders will
run to the press and destroy your reputation if they even perceive to have been wronged.

Nuff said.

Obama is only half white, and not to get too much off topic, but i know of 5 or 6 black guys who would cut off their left arm to be a part of the KKK, racist are strange people, there are some white people who just hate black kids, this guy may be one of them.

Saw this yesterday too.

Regarding the white kids getting out, I see they have a swim team, could that be a factor? Having summer camp kids show up would probably be before or after swim practice. If after, then the camp kids get in (all black) and the swim team gets out (all non-black).

At my son's first swim team he had just finished practicing when some summer camp kids showed up, and yes most of them were black. When they got there any chance of anyone practicing (i.e. swimming laps, practicing turns, dives, etc.) would be completely impossible. The kids were rowdy and boisterous. Nothing wrong with that necessarily, but it would lend to the story that the camp kids show up, get in the pool the swim team, if in the pool, gets out.
