Palin Last Nail in Republican Coffin?
Quite a few reports came out yesterday buttressing rumors that there were tensions between John McCain and Sarah Palin which caused a feud within the campaign team. It's only fitting, I suppose, since the selection of Palin has highlighted and exacerbated a growing fissure within the Republican Party itself. Fox New's Carl Cameron dished last night about rumors that Palin was ...Posted in Outside The Beltway | OTB on November 6, 2008 08:06

U.S. Foreign Policy in the Post-Bush Era
Fareed Zakaria argues that John McCain's foreign policy would be bellicose whereas Barack Obama's would be conciliatiatory but, as Dave Schuler notes, both are "confrontational" and "interventionist," just with slightly different priorities. Zakaria points to a recent McCain speech: Not only does it declare war on Russia and China, it places the United States in active opposition to all nondemocracies. Aside from the fact that the argument has been widely discussed, including ...Posted in Outside The Beltway | OTB on October 6, 2006 08:55

Raw Story Christian Avard reports that a former ambassador has a new book out about the incompetence of the Bush administration which makes the claim that President Bush did not know, two months before the invasion of Iraq, that Muslims were divided into Sunni and Shia sects. Former Ambassador to Croatia Peter Galbraith is claiming President George W. Bush was unaware ...Posted in Outside The Beltway | OTB on August 5, 2006 08:05
What is an Expert?
Phillip Weiss offers a scathing attack of Persian Puzzle author Kenneth Pollack over at HuffPo. [I] was shocked on flipping to page 429, the Author's Note at the end of the book, to read that Pollack has never been to Iran and doesn't speak Persian, has only dribs and drabs of Arabic. [...] This is one of the problems with our arrogant war ...Posted in Outside The Beltway | OTB on May 3, 2006 13:23
