TAKING A BREAK?

TAKING A BREAK? WaPo/Reuters report that US commanders have ordered a 4-6 day pause because of supply shortages and stiff Iraqi resistance. Many of the details in the story strike me as suspicious. For one thing, the M1 Abrams runs on diesel, not gasoline. For another, it is highly unlikely that any heavy division embarked on this operation with only a week’s supply of MREs; even if the war had lasted only a few days, the soldiers were going to have to eat. I suspect this is either more dubious reportage from Reuters, or Coalition leaders taking advantage of same to get out disinformation to confuse the enemy.
