Ah, that would be Mr. Ekuban (spelling may be off). I recall with quaint fondness the Chan Gailey era in Dallas Cowboy football. I didn't think anyone could be a bigger hick than Coach Switzer, but Gailey did his best.

Funniest thing, from a local sports talk station, the era's favorite song was a remake of Chumbawumba's "Tubthumping" (I get knocked down but I get up again/You're never gonna keep me down
) with the tag line "We're six and 10!"

Heh. Ekky was a reach for a 1st round pick. He was a raw player at North Carolina who hadn't played much football. Everything I read about him at the time, though, was pretty positive--great talent, great attitude, and great work ethic. But he's been a merely decent defensive lineman and, indeed, has been inactive although healthy the last couple of games. He's had 12.5 sacks in his nearly 5 full seasons:
