An adult ticket to "Spiderman 2" in Ottawa is 18 percent lower than in Manhattan. Movie ticket prices in Mexico City average $3.50, while adult ticket prices in New York City are now regularly $10.

To be fair, it must be admitted that everything costs more in Manhattan. The cost of living and the cost of doing business must be factored in when making such comparisons.

Plus: If people keep shelling out the bucks, why should they drop the prices?

To protect its interests, the movie industry contributes heavily to political parties. A fund-raiser for a presidential candidate raised $5 million in June of this year.

"Parties"? Perhaps the author is referring to the Dems and the Greens. Otherwise, he's being too diplomatic.

"A presidential candidate"? C'mon, be more specific. Which one?? No way I'll guess on my own.
