O.K. all the world's problems are Bush's. The innocent Syrians are being picked on by the spread of evil U.S. Impirialism. Meanwhile back here on Earth... Syria has supported the Iraqi insurgency, killing countless Americans and Iraqis. No one cares. Syria supports terror in the Middle East, and the destruction of Israel. No one cares. Syria assasinates the leader of a neighboring country. The U.N. (much like in Iraq) delivers toothless sanctions, and fails to back them up. Thus, allowing Syria to continue with the status quo. Again, no one cares. I would not at all be surprised in the famous "non-existent" WMD's are actually in-place in Syria, waiting to be used in an unstable ME. A ME that is unstable by design, because countries like Syria and Iran want it that way. So let's stop kidding ourselves here. Let's not blame all of the world's problems on G.W., as we stroll around in our Birkenstocks sipping on our Starbuck's. The liberal pacifity is what got us into 9/11; is what created the ME of today; will be the source of terror that shadows 9/11... ...Unless of course the U.N. and the international community goes to task on countries like Syria. We've seen it again and again. Terror and genocide due to the inability of the U.N. to ACT.

We should invade now. Think about it: Bush's ratings are at their highest when we're at war. I guess the Iraq thing is still a "war," but people are used to it. I mean, it seems like each day another 6 US soldiers are killed and no one seems to bat an eye.

If we invade Syria, at least its another country;. Bush can go on the tv and make some grave sounding speech. In the meantime, his approval ratings go up, people forget about this whole Cheney/Libby thing, Altia gets his seat on the Supreme Court without a fuss and everybody's happy.

Hell, if we play our cards right we can re-start the movement to repeal the 22nd amendment! I can hear it now: Hell, we're at war! If we don't have a STRONG LEADER our troops are screwed; so, unless you're ANTI TROOP, you'll vote to repeal 22!

Should we wait to first take all our troops out of the region? It makes much more sense to do it while they are sending and supporting - let them know that we are still capable of shocking and aweing!

Well, war with Syria will definitely get everyone's mind off the Libby indictment. Except possibly for Libby's.

(Actually, I think the Alito nomination is already making Libby old news. Probably as it should be. Alito is for us to deliberate on and decide; Fitzgerald's investigation is not, jurors excepted.)

A few carefully-chosen targets in Syria would almost certainly reduce the amount of trouble in Iraq, considering the number of bad guys we keep killing who came across the Syrian border.

I'm just wondering if either of those "border guards" had ever been, well, border guards.
