Ventura-Barkley ‘08

Boston Herald

Wrestler-turned-politician Jesse Ventura all but threw his hat into the 2008 presidential ring yesterday – and said he’s already decided to tap basketball star Charles Barkley as a running mate.

Hmm.

Barkley has said for years that he’d like to be governor of Alabama. And, frankly, he’d be an upgrade over most of his predecessors. I’m not sure I’d want him one heartbeat away from the presidency, though.

Via Mark Hasty, who has a critical assessment of Ventura’s tenure as governor.
