Saddam planned invasion ‘on drugs’

OUSTED Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein was probably high on drugs when he decided to invade Kuwait in 1990, a former chief of protocol said in a radio interview yesterday.

Issam Rashid Walid, whose book In Saddam’s Shadow is due to be released in French in the coming days, also told Europe 1 radio Saddam had amassed a fortune of about $US35 billion ($44.5 billion) through various companies he set up, including many in the Brazilian car industry.

“Saddam was heavily into drugs. He began in 1959, with cannabis, and then when he seized power (in 1979), he used heroin at times. He decided to invade Kuwait because he was probably not in his normal state. He was on drugs and drugs made him lose his mind,” said Walid.

Hmmm.

I don't know about that one...
I never invaded Indiana after smoking weed and dropping acid. I thought long and hard about it though.

Wow - I had no idea so much could be accomplished while taking drugs. With the drug culture we are told abounds in America - there should be thousands ready to storm the White House and take over this country. Wonder why that hasn't happened yet?
