 Outside the Beltway

Where I’ve Been

As regular readers may have noted, I’ve been less prolific than normal as of late.   After several weeks being bogged down with the technical matters of launching the new Atlantic Council website, I’m now swamped with my editorial responsibilities.  Things will hopefully settle down a bit once I’ve got a steady stream of submissions coming in.

I’ve written two more pieces for our New Atlanticist blog:   “Russia’s Empty Promises,” which wonders why the EU thinks they can trust Dmitri Medvedev to keep the promises he made them Monday considering he’s so blatantly broke the ones he made them last month, and “New Europe Outworks Old — USA, Too?” a much-expanded version of a piece I published here over the weekend.

And, lest you think New Atlanticist is just “James Joyner’s other blog,” I’m not alone over there.   My colleague Joe Snyder examines “China’s Post-Olympic Image,” Bob Manning examines “The Kantian Fallacy,” and Alex Motyl wonders, “Will the Near Abroad Go Nuclear?

Don’t forget about Atlantic Update, either.  Each day, our staff will round up the most important news and commentary our transatlantic and international security issues.

About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia.

Sounds an exciting project, James... and I wish you luck with it.
