Which Political Blogs Have the Juice?

Cincy lawprof Paul Caron points to a new blog ranking tool called “Blog Juice” brought to us by the folks at Text Link Ads (disclosure: I’m a client). Their formula ranks blogs by the following criteria:
- Number of Bloglines subscribers (40%)
- Alexa rank (15%)
- Technorati ranking (30%)
- Number of inbound links via Technorati (15%
I’m dubious of both Bloglines as the major RSS metric and of Alexa, period. Still, it’s an interesting tool. Caron is pleased with it, too, especially since his TaxProf Blog is rated 5th among the major law blogs.
Here are the political blogs:
OTB is ranked much higher than it intuitively should be because the report seems only to list a handful of very prominent blogs and then skip down to the blog whose URL was input. The incredibly low ranking of Professor Bainbridge among lawblogs should also throw up a red flag.

Bainbridge rarely blogs about law. His observations on politics never rise above shallow Limbaughesqe talking points. But his links on Catholocism and wine are a valued contribution to blogdom. He is not very smart and other than these few items not easily found elsewhere I see little reason to visit his site.
