Why?

Tyler Cohen has been taunted into writing an entire blog post without the letter “E.”

I’m reminded of Simms’ (Don Johnson) response to Roy (Kevin Costner) when asked whether he’d ever shot par with a 7-iron: “It never occurred to me to try.”

About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife and infant daughter.

That sort of thing is awfully difficult to do, and can annoy many of the folks who must absorb that information. Artificial limits on writing? Difficult, but not unsurmountable.

I am, in turn, reminded of a Samuel Johnston quote:

I suspect it would be far more difficult to produce a blog post without the letter "I".

I suspect it would be far more difficult to produce a blog post without the letter "I".

One wonders whether that's really true.
