Why is the Media Using Red Lake Killer’s Old Pictures?
Bill the PunditGuy has a montage of photographs of Jeff Weise, who murdered ten people at Red Lake High School. He observes that the press seems to always show pictures of him as a kid rather than the much more menacing pictures of him at his current age and wonders why.

Bill's critique would be more compelling if he actually said which news outlets posted which pictures.
Of the two papers that I read each morning, the New York Times had a picture taken in the last year and the Financial Times didn't even cover the story since--while a tragedy--an event of minimal importance within the grand scheme of public policy.
Same reason they always seem to have to dig up someone who will say what a nice, "normal" guy the lunatic was.
