 Outside the Beltway

WNBA

Washington Times reports that the current labor impasse might mean the end of the WNBA as early as tomorrow. How stupid can the players be, threatening to strike against a league that has fewer fans than players and that’s losing millions of dollars a year? The players are making an average salary in the $46,000 to $55,000 range, which is paltry by big league sports standards but pretty good for a part time job. Maybe they’ll follow the lead of the American Airlines waitresses flight attendants, who finally realized that bankrupting their company wasn’t so smart, considering the alternatives.
