Considering that I was skeptical immediately after seeing the picture and stated so in the very short initial post I reject this view.

Reject all you want. You are wrong. All you had to do was insert "allegedly" into the headline and you would have been on solid ground.

If I run a headline that says "Candidate X a serial killer" but say something in my copy about how I am dubious that Candidate X is really a serial killer, I am a hack.

Commenters calling each other morons is par for the course, but one of this blog's authors calling a commenter a moron for pointing out that said author overstepped is poor form, indeed.

Not when you stop and consider that all of the authors here have jobs, can't monitor the news 24/7 nor be on the site to update it to suite commenters desires. That belief is sheer stupidity. This is obvious with about 3 seconds of thought. It is why I usually allow at least 6 to 8 hours for people to respond to some new development before spouting off like an idiot.

Further, the implication of Jeffery's post was that I was either chicken to post an update or not honest enough to do so or even both. The reality was I was stuck in a two hour long meeting that was mandantory so I didn't get out till after 2PM east coast time and had to get some work done before I could even check up on the story. I did check for new news last night and early this morning, but nothing new was out yet. However, once I saw the item at Drudge I immediately posted an update.

Yes, and that was what I wrote. I wrote that I was skeptical of the story. When it was also learned that the whole event supposedly took place outside the range of the ATM camera I was even more skeptical.

Of course if I was right version of most left troll, I would be saying things like “she was force by harsh interrogation to change her story”, ”the police are corrupt” ,or “she was confuse and change her story to get the harsh pressure off of her”, possible but not likely. Reporters should look into it but with some of the release evidence so far it is unlikely they will uncover anything. I figure there was a fair chance with the ATM and possibly security cameras from stores that the truth would evidently be reveal.
