BASKETBALL AND WAR

BASKETBALL AND WAR: Interesting: ESPN reports that the NCAA is considering postponing its basketball tournament because of the war. And why does the NCAA president get this and Tom Daschle doesn’t?

“We don’t know when [war] will start, and we have to be respectful of our men and women in uniform,” Brand said. “On the other hand, I think we have to be very careful not to let Saddam Hussein control our lives. We have to balance those.”

Indeed. My guess is the games go on. We played a Super Bowl during the last Gulf War. None of the troops I knew were offended.
