Beauty Isn’t Skin Deep

Virginia Postrel’s blog post calling attention to her just-published Atlantic Monthly column “The Truth About Beauty” is nearly as interesting as said column. Both are “the result of seeing one too many Dove commercials suggesting that every woman is beautiful (provided she uses the right thigh cream, of course) and that any teenage girl who has doubts about her gorgeousness suffers from low self-esteem.”

  1. Once you get past the playboy picture book relationship stage (aka looking for something more than just someone to look at) a woman’s attitude will outshine her looks (for good or bad).
