Berry Wins Razzie

Former Bond girl Halle Berry wins Razzie award for Worst Actress (Actor News)

Former James Bond girl Halle Berry, who played Jinx in the 2002 film “Die Another Day”, has won a Razzy Award for Worst Actress for her role in flop “Catwoman”. She joins the ranks previous of Razzie winners including Madonna, who won Worst Supporting Actress for her cameo in “Die Another Day” at the 2003 awards.

Halle Berry thanked the makers of Catwoman for “putting me in a God-awful movie” when she turned up to collect her worst actress Razzie award – reports the BBC. The actress, whose surprise appearance got her a standing ovation from a packed house, made a lengthy speech, parodying her 2002 Oscar win.

Funny. And good show on Berry’s part for handling it this way. This rather clearly demonstrates, though, that Chris Rock was right: awards for artists are incredibly silly. Berry is neither the best actress nor the worst working in Hollywood. She’s sufficiently competent that, given good direction and a terrific script, she can turn in excellent performance. Given neither, there’s not much even the most talented actor can do.
