BLOOGLE: Slate’s Steven Johnson has some interesting ideas about how Google’s acquisition of Blogger will change the ‘net. Most of us thought about how Google’s resources could help Blogger, but Johnson thinks it will mainly be the other way around.

Wow! Blogging is definitely going mainstream. Google has just bought out Pyra, the parent company of Blogger. (link via GeekPress) The immediate impact should be good–more server space, more employees to provide tech support, and better indexing of weblogs into the Google search functions. I’m wondering, though, if the long term result won’t be making blogging a pay-as-you-go enterprise.
