DEANS

Ogged links (via Taegan Goddard) a bizarre footnote to a Australian Sunday Times piece on the discovery of Howard Dean’s brother in Laos:

Mr Dean, 24, was the son of John Dean, a former adviser to US president Richard Nixon.

Ogged is understandably perplexed, since no one has ever seen fit to mention that Howard Dean is John Dean’s son! Apparently, he isn’t.

Also, just so that there will be no rumors, Howard Dean is no relation to Jimmy Dean, the pork sausage king; James Dean, the 1950s movie icon; or Dean Esmay, cranky weblogger.

Could he be relateed to Mr. Dean, that funny looking short British guy in all those comedy shorts who never actually says anything except the occasional “Arrrggghhh!”?
