DEATH TOLL

CNN reports that a soldier killed yesterday brought the US battle deaths in the Iraq War to 148, one more than in the 1991 Gulf War.

269 total US soldiers died in Gulf War I, including 121 killed in “nonhostile actions” (presumably, accidents). So far, the figure is 222 for this iteration.

CNN reports 267 total coalition dead so far in Gulf War II.
