DEMOCRATIC UNITY SHATTERED

John Fund reports that Gray Davis is unlikely to be able to keep Democrats from putting their name on the ballot, as that would guarantee a Republican (or, at least a non-Democrat) would be governor if Davis can’t withstand the recall. While Dian Feinstein, who would be a virtual shoe-in were she to run, likely won’t be on the ballot, Rep. Loretta Sanchez and former Rep. Leon Panetta are considered possibilities.
