God Versus The Devil

Scott Adams has this trenchant observation about the history of fatal stampedes at the “stoning of the devil” phase of the Hajj:

I think it̢۪s interesting that when you pray to God for a new bike, it hardly ever materializes in your bedroom within seconds. But when you throw stones at the devil, quite often you get an immediate response. That̢۪s an example of good customer service.

Good point.
