GRAHAM DROPS OUT

Bob Graham just announced his withdrawal from the race on Larry King.

CNN.com has a banner headline confirming this and promises details to come. Granting that he had slightly less chance to win than Al Sharpton, Graham is the first significant candidate to withdraw.

Update (2214): Here’s the story:

“I’m leaving because I cannot be elected president of the United States,” Graham said on CNN’s “Larry King Live.”

He cited fund-raising difficulties and his late start in getting into the race because of his duties in Senate and the war in Iraq.

One has to admire his forthrightness, at least. Nothing about “spending more time with my family” or anything.
