We asked Trump if he was suggesting Obama got into Harvard Law School through affirmative action. He said, “Affirmative action is out there. It’s a program that is available. But I have no idea whether it applies in this case. I’m not suggesting anything.”

No, he’s not suggesting anything at all! He’s just asking questions about that black guy who clearly doesn’t deserve to be where he is because, well just because. Questions must be answered!!!!!111!!

  2. jwest says:

Has anyone ever suggested that Obama was admitted to Harvard Law without the help of affirmative action?

If so, that’s news to me. Please provide a link if you find one.

  3. mantis says:

Has anyone ever suggested that Obama was admitted to Harvard Law without the help of affirmative action?

Sure. I’ll suggest it again now. Obama may very well have been admitted to Harvard Law without the help of affirmative action.

Now why don’t you provide a link showing Obama was accepted with the help of affirmative action? Racist shitbird.

  4. jwest says:

    Mantis,

Before entering into a discussion on this subject, I just want to know if you’re aware that Obama left Columbia without any honors and that Obama has mentioned himself that he has benefitted from affirmative action.

Are these facts something that you knew or is this all news to you?

  5. Contracts says:

Does anyone else feel like a “bristling Donald” is something that should have a definition at Urban Dictionary?

  6. michael reynolds says:

    jwest:

    links?

  7. mantis says:

Are these facts something that you knew or is this all news to you?

Are either of those actually facts? You don’t support them with any links or other evidence. Racist shitbird.

  8. jwest says:

    Michael,

How could you possibly doubt me?

Mr. Obama said he had “undoubtedly benefited from affirmative action” in his own academic career, and he praised the intellectual heft and wide-ranging views of his diverse staff.
    http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/03/us/politics/03affirmative.html?ref=politics&pagewanted=print

Later in 1981 he transferred to Columbia University in New York City, where he majored in political science with a specialty in international relations[24] and graduated with a B.A. in 1983.

After graduating with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) magna cum laude[36] from Harvard in 1991, he returned to Chicago.

Obama’s bio mentions honors from Harvard Law, but none from Columbia. Any liberal who cares to argue that they simply forgot to include his Columbia honors is welcome to try.

  9. jwest says:

    Mantis,

How about pretending that you have the capacity to carry on a conversation without insults or expletives?

It’s not that big a deal with me and I’d rather have you vent here than end up in some clock tower, shooting at innocent people who you believe look like conservatives, but it might help if you tried to expand your vocabulary past the schoolyard level.

  10. michael reynolds says:

    jwest:

And just where did you think you got support for your assumptions? Because I didn’t see it.

  11. jwest says:

    Michael,

What assumptions are you talking about?

  12. michael reynolds says:

Oh, I see what you’re thinking. Well, not really thinking.

By deflecting instantly to his staff, don’t you think he was saying some on his staff may have benefited, and thus he, himself?

It has been stated (not by Obama but by fellow students) that he refused to list his race on his Harvard app so as not to benefit from affirmative action.

So even if you believe he was talking about himself in Part 1, it became irrelevant once he was admitted to Harvard without preference. And went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude.

Bottom line, though I know this disturbs your racist worldview: Obama is highly intelligent. Certainly much, much (much) more intelligent than you.

  13. mantis says:

How about pretending that you have the capacity to carry on a conversation without insults or expletives?

How about you eat a bag of salted dicks?

It’s not that big a deal with me and I’d rather have you vent here than end up in some clock tower, shooting at innocent people who you believe look like conservatives,

You must have mistaken me with, well, you and your brethren. I don’t do violence. Just vitriol.

but it might help if you tried to expand your vocabulary past the schoolyard level.

I use language appropriate to those I’m engaged with. Schoolyard is a little advanced for you, but oh well.

By the way, you didn’t back up your so-called “facts” with any evidence whatsoever. Obama speculating that he was helped by AA is evidence of nothing. Lack of mention of honors from his undergraduate alma mater on Wikipedia is evidence of nothing. You’re a racist shitbird. GFY.

  14. jwest says:

    Michael,

You state that Obama is intelligent. Could you cite some evidence of this? Test scores, grades, I.Q. anything like that will do. Until you can produce some facts you’re just engaging in a pathetic display of racist amazement, attributing genius-like intelligence to black person simply because he can speak without ebonics.

Graduating from Harvard Law magna is not proof, as the penchant for social promotion and special consideration for minorities at the time is well known.

  15. mantis says:

the penchant for social promotion and special consideration for minorities at the time is well known.

Evidence for this assertion? Oh, you forgot that part. Racist shitbird.

  16. jwest says:

    Mantis,

If you believe Obama had any honors from Occidental or Columbia, I’ll be willing to look at your proof.

  17. mantis says:

If you believe Obama had any honors from Occidental or Columbia

Don’t care, but I’m not the one making assertions based on my racist assumptions and zero facts.

  18. wr says:

Hey jwest — since you keep telling us exactly what Harvard was like when Obama was there, would you mind saying how you learned this? Were you a student there at the time? On the faculty? The janitorial staff? Or did you really never graduate high school, so you are consumed with bitterness at everyone who succeeded where you have so pathetically failed?

  19. jwest says:

Yes, it was a mighty big accomplishment to gain honors at HL.

“Under the old system, 76% of Harvard Law grads earned honors, the school said.”
    http://articles.latimes.com/1999/jun/10/news/mn-46135

So our president needed to maintain a solid “C” in order to achieve his magna accolade. Considering that he did this in the golden age of subjective grading by liberal professors so racked with white guilt that they would throw themselves under Rosa Park’s bus before giving any grade lower to a minority, I can see how Obama accomplished it.

  20. wr says:

What a shock — jwest’s lying again. When you click on his link, this is what you get:

“When members of Harvard Law School’s class of 1999 receive their prestigious degrees Thursday, 36% fewer graduates than last year will be awarded with honors, the school said Wednesday.

The relative scarcity of honors grads is the result of a new policy intended to boost the value of a cum laude degree and remove the stigma associated with not graduating with honors, Harvard Law spokesman Mike Chmura said.”

That solid C? Nowhere mentioned in the article he links to. The number of honors given out? No way of knowing. He read two paragraphs and invented the rest, apparently based on his iniability to believe a black man was the president of Harvard Law Review while he failed high school shop class.

  21. Neil Hudelson says:

    jwest,

If you don’t want to be called a racist shitbird by Mantis, that’s fine. There are many other names that are just as accurate.

    Racist asshole.
    Racist f*ck
    Racist anal wart.

All of them are quite accurate given your comments here. I’m beginning to suspect the “Christian” commentor here is just you in another name. Your writing styles are remarkably similar and your ideas are identical.

  22. wr says:

Hey, I pinned jwest as Christian first…

My question is what name did Souther Hoosier use to post under.

  23. mattb says:

I think there’s no question Obama benefited from Affirmative Action or other race base initiatives. For him to say anything else would be flatly dishonest. But then again, so did Condy Rice and Clanence Thomas among others. As far as I know Thomas is the only one of the three who seems profoundly conflicted over that .

You state that Obama is intelligent. Could you cite some evidence of this?

Um… can’t speak for the schools he attended, but he taught at U of C. Seriously — single most brainy campus in the US. The joke there is folks only got leave there for other Ivy’s when they want to retire and stop researching. Even the part timers there are really all that and the bag of chips (at least in the main campus and law — don’t know to much about the b-school).
