HITCHENS ON HOPE

Christopher Hitchens, who famously exposed the evils of Mother Teresa, makes the case that Bob Hope wasn’t really very funny. I’d have to agree, although it does seem an unkind thing to say. Of course, I never understood what was supposed to be funny about Milton Berle or Woody Allen, either, but Hitchens includes both in his list of great comedians. And, so far as I know, Hope never had an affair with his adopted teenaged daughter–a real plus.
