Iraq: Thank God for Germany

People in Alabama, often on the wrong end of most rankings of the 50 states, have always been able to say “Thank God for Mississippi!” because at least they kept Alabama from being the worst. Dean Esmay passes on a Medienkritik report that the latest public opinion surveys show the average Iraqi is happier than the average German.

I’m sure this is almost entirely a function of polling techniques, comfort with expressing negative opinions, and expectation levels. Still, I can’t help but find it pretty amusing.
