Keeping Mentally Ill Senators From Getting Guns

I've got my differences with Charlie Schumer and Joe Manchin. But there's no need to call names.

  1. Some would say being a Senator is a mental illness

  2. Jim Swift says:

    I wonder if some of the more left-leaning proposals became law, would Ashley Judd be able to own a firearm?

  3. JKB says:

    I hadn’t heard it being attributed to senators but it is a documented fact that MAIG mayors have a higher rate of felony arrest and convictions than lawful gun owners, even if you limit the gun side to those with carry permits.

    Spend a week or two taking care of someone that is mentally ill and get back to me on if it’s a good subject to use to show off how clever you are.

  5. @anjin-san:

    As the Grandson of a woman who suffered with dementia the last years of her life, I know this all too well.

    I was making a joke, obviously

    @Doug Mataconis: Some would say being a Senator is a mental illness

    Senators seem mentally ill like the respected Commander/Lt. Colonel seems to go bat-shit crazy when they make O-6.

  7. Dave Schuler says:

    I don’t think that senators are crazy. I think it’s a situational psychosis. A form of constituent service.

    @anjin-san: Lighten up, Francis.

    More like character disorders, imo.

    Someone very close to me is schizophrenic. I’m the guy who takes care of him, and I’m the guy who listens to my wife crying herself to sleep over it. There is no levity around the subjet of mental illness in my house.

    You might want to stick to commenting on things you actually have some understanding of. Oh, wait – that would render you utterly silent.

    @anjin-san: Woa man calm down. If we applied your standards to all jokes I don’t think there’s a single joke that would survive. If you can’t laugh at life sometimes then you’ll never make it..
