Libby Defense: Phone Calls After Novak Published Plame Secret

Scooter Libby attorney Ted Wells told the jury during opening arguments that Robert Novak’s column was sent out to his syndicator on July 11, 2003 so that it could be published. As a result, it was “sent to over 85 newspapers.” “So this so-called secret…is in approximately 85 newsrooms” at least one day before any of the conversations with reporters under dispute in this trial.
