Only 9% Of Americans Blame Obama For High Gas Prices

According to a new Washington Post/Pew poll, it doesn’t appear that President Obama is paying much of a political price for the recent up-tick in gas prices:

Nine percent of Americans blame President Barack Obama and the U.S. government for this year’s spike in gasoline prices, according to a new Washington Post/Pew Research Center poll.

An additional 5 percent cited “not drilling enough” as an answer to the poll’s open-ended question of who or what is to blame for high prices.

By contrast, 30 percent blamed a combination of greed, profit and speculation. Nineteen percent pegged unrest in the Middle East and North Africa.

Interesting, to say the least.

Well then all 9% of them must live in and around south central Indiana because I hear people complaining about not only high gas prices but the fact that Obama either can’t or won’t do anything about it all day long day after day.

  4. TG Chicago says:

@Terrye: Do any of them mention what Obama should be doing about it? Does it involve drilling babies?

  5. anjin-san says:

Terry, are any of them pissed about the 26%-surge in chevron Q1 profits? Or do folks in your neighborhood figure there is no relationship between the two?
