OPUS LIVES
Daniel Drezner has several links in celebration of the return of Berke Breathed’s “Opus” today. (Hat tip: Glenn Reynolds)
The strip appeared in the print edition of WaPo today but is not available online there or at any of the usual syndicate websites. Indeed, my copy arrived yesterday (WaPo delivers the Sunday inserts on Saturdays). Let’s just say the debut strip wasn’t worth the ten year wait. Indeed, it was much more remniscent of “Outland,” which I never cared for, than “Bloom County,” which I consider an all-time classic.

When Opus returned to papers a couple years ago, a few peoplemade a big deal of the fact that you couldn’t find it online, at least not on any regular basis. As the strip debuted, Breathed had some choice words about “the damn Internet and the snarky little office imps — especially ones around newsrooms — who feel they need to upload everything they can get their sticky
