    I actually lived near the place where these launches happen. The current cargo of the balloons is socks. The advantage to sending socks is that the people who find the packets of socks can either wear them themselves if they choose or sell them in the market or some combination. The retail value of socks in South Korea is about about a dollar a pair. Translated into NK market value 10 pairs of socks becomes about 3 or 4 months income (or more).
