OTB Caption JamTM

Weekend Caption Jam Linkfest:

To join in, start a Caption Contest at your blog, edit it to add a link to this post, and then send a TrackBack. If your blog doesn’t automatically generate one, use the Send TrackBack feature below. For more information, see this post.

How to become a “regular” link, under the fold

I’m not sure that anyone will find this terribly interesting, but I do try to apply a model as to what contests I link for the Caption Jam. I don’t have anything against any form of caption contest or blog contest, buy my is to recognize some of the contests I frequent. While anyone is pretty much free to self-link their contest of any type, I will directly link to contests based in part on the guidelines below.

  • Follow some form of consistency or schedule.
  • Be open over the weekend, if you want the link from the Caption Jam.
  • Have some form of winners or results, not an absolute, but I’m more likely to link contests that have some form of closure.
  • Easy to find on the site, (both the contest and the winners)
  • Political/current news content is preferred, but as you can see I only follow this somewhat myself
  • Start up a new contest, I’m likely to try to link to new contests, at least a couple of times, to see if they takeoff
  • Link back to OTB on a regular basis
  • Be popular or have the potential to be popular (this is pretty much up to you.)
  • Capture my interest, (An unknown variable, but also somewhat up to you)

I reserve the right to violate any of these guidelines as I feel necessary.
