PALMEIRO GETS IT UP . . .AND OVER

While watching TBS coverage of the Braves game earlier, they broke in for each of Rafael Palmeiro’s at bats, as he started the game with 499 career homers. He didn’t disappoint, hitting his 500th in his fifth at bat of the game, becoming just the 19th player in Major League history to reach that milestone.

Poliblogger, an actual Rangers fan, offers his congrats and John Lemon weighs in on the high score of the game.

Sadly, however, I am more likely to think “Viagra” than “500 homers” when Palmeiro’s name comes up. Um, is mentioned. I hope he’s being well compensated for this association.

  1. While watching ESPN’s coverage of Raffi’s attempt at 500 last night, I noticed the Viagra ad behind home plate and they cut to shots of his wife. What was she thinking when her husband told her what he was now sponsoring?

Raffi is a great guy!!! Just wish we could get a championship ring on his finger before he retires.

This Orioles fan almost wept when he left for Texas. He’s a great player, a great guy and I couldn’t be happier for him.

I did wonder about his mental state when I saw the Viagra ad though. Poor fella!
