Politinerds: Ed Morrissey

PolitinerdsPo

This week on Politinerds, Jazz Shaw and I interview Ed Morrissey, Senior Editor at Hot Air, host of The Ed Morrissey Show, and among the class of long-time bloggers still out there sharing news and opinion with the world. We talked with Ed about what brought him to blogging, how the blogosphere has changed over the past decade or more and how it hasn’t, and how he approaches his own political writing. We also got into the 2016 elections, of course, and a new book that Ed has coming out next year called Going Red: The Two Million Voters Who Will Elect the Next President–and How Conservatives Can Win Them. The book will be published in April, but is already available for pre-order at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.  As Morrissey describes it, the books is the result of his travels over the past year to seven key countries in battleground states that President Obama won in both 2008 and 2012 that Republicans must win if they are going to win the 2016 election. While the book seems largely meant as advice for conservatives and Republicans, it promises to be of interest to any political junkie regardless of what side of the aisle you’re on and anyone interested in the forces likely to drive the 2016 election.

We had fun doing this show and I think you’ll enjoy it too!

You can find links to all past episodes at the show archive. Additionally, the podcast is now available on iTunes.

Democrats with anonying conservative Republican relatives should pick it up in a bargain bin on November 8, 2016 and then read from it during Thanksgiving. Especially the parts about Republicans getting minorities to vote for them again in 2016…

I don’t know if the rightwingosphere has a more consistent happy hack than ol Captain Ed. Poor bastard was happily predicting a Romney win right up till they called the swing states for Obama.

I sort of feel for him, cause he’s been carrying water for the GOP for so long, that you can tell he can’t quite figure out how to handle the fact that HotAir has been overrun with lunatics going “Pro-Trump or burn it all down” and he can’t rally everyone behind Rubio or Bush or whoever.
