Ron Paul Supporters: Jon Huntsman Is A Foreign Agent Because He Speaks Chinese, Or Something

This video put up by purported Ron Paul supporters is so full of insanity and outright racism it’s almost hard to believe it’s real, but it is:

It’s important to note that this is not an official product of the campaign or any Paul SuperPAC. Nonetheless, the vileness of its insinuations about Huntsman, and even his adopted daughters, is so disgusting it raises questions about just what kind of people Ron Paul is attracting.

Update: The Paul campaign has denounced the web ad. Good for them.

  1. So basically, any random ding dong can put a video on You Tube and that becomes the candidate’s fault?

  2. Thomas says:

Yes this is a disgusting video. But, you just admitted it was not done by the Ron Paul campaign or any PAC working for Paul.

Any moron can make an anonymous advertisement on the internet and claim it to be the work of another. Don’t you find it strange that the tags on the video all are traced back to the Huntsman campaign?

I’m sure they all play drums.

It’s important to note that this is not an official product of the GOP or any Republican politician. Nonetheless, the vileness of its insinuations about Obama, and even his daughters, is so disgusting it raises questions about just what kind of people the GOP is attracting.

    Fixed.

Did someone assign fault to anyone other than the “purported Ron Paul supporters?”

Notwithstanding, I should note that the user, “NHLiberty4Paul,” joined YouTube on January 4 and has just one video posted, which had only gotten a handful of views before the blogs got ahold of it.

Wouldn’t it be better to just ignore this until it becomes something worth paying attention to? This kind of stuff wouldn’t get noticed at all if blogs didn’t drive all the traffic to it.

This internet troll’s YouTube account goes all the way back to… yesterday, and you fell for it? And use it to paint all Ron Paul supporters with the “kook” label? You’re showing your true biased colors, Doug. Just pathetic.

  7. Valerie says:

Are you really leaving this post up? Why? It makes you look desperate.

  8. legion says:

@mantis: You’re not wrong, but Ron Paul’s own racist writings have been out there for years, have recently become “big news”, and yet Pauls’ supporters quite deliberately ignore them…

  9. mantis says:

    @legion:

I just think it is worthwhile to exercise caution when some completely unknown entity posts something on the web. Anyone can do it, so I think it’s worth considering waiting until you know who did. I could have made that video (though if I did, it would have had better production values). The Huntsman campaign could have made that video. My guess is that the poster is a rather stupid, racist, xenophobic NH Paul supporter or supporters, but we don’t actually know anything about who it was yet, and may never know.

Whoever posted it, if their intention is to help Paul, erred on two counts. First, it will have a negative effect. Second, Huntsman and Paul are not competing for the same voters. In fact, Huntsman is barely competing at all. Why would Paul need to attack him? It serves no purpose.

  10. Budgie93 says:

Yeah, it’s a pretty dumb video, granted.

However, I’m more interested in the fact that a Paul supporter feels the need to go after Huntsman, a man whose resources were poured entirely into NH and is barely polling double digit figures. Are people starting to see Huntsman as a threat? Or is this guy just that silly?

This all makes a lot more sense if you the person behind it is a Romney supporter.

  12. legion says:

@PJ: No it doesn’t – the whole point is that
    a) Huntsman isn’t a threat to anyone (least of all Romney), so attacks on him are pointless and
    b) If it’s someone trying to make Paul look bad, they haven’t been paying attention to Paul’s supporters’ ability to completely ignore the actual person they’re supporting, rather than the idea of Ron Paul.

The only place this is even getting noticed is in the wonkier corners of the blogosphere, and even there, it’s so bizarrely ineffective nobody really knows if Paul’s people are behind it or not; it isn’t terribly effective from _anyone’s_ POV, near as I can tell…

  13. RWB says:

This post does approximately the same thing to Ron Paul that the video tries to do to Huntsman. I would prefer to see Huntsman as President , but I am having second thoughts if people who write posts like this are his supporters.

  14. Jay says:

I think it’s just as likely that this was made by a Newt/Santorum/Romney supporter as by a RP supporter.

  15. michael reynolds says:

I don’t know, I found it pretty convincing. Clearly Huntsman is Chinese.

  16. ernieyeball says:

“Pauls’ supporters quite deliberately ignore them…”

Ron Paul’s words 1995: “I also do an investment letter” “I also put out a political type of business investment newsletter”

Ron Paul’s words 2011 CNN “Walk Out” Interview: “I didn’t write them. didn’t read them at the time and I disavow them.”

Ron Paul’s words WHO radio interview Dec. 2011 (just days after “I didn’t write them”) “And I wrote a certain portion of them…But there were many times when I didn’t edit the whole letter, and things got put in.”

???If there were times when he did not edit the whole letter, were there times when HE DID edit the whole letter???

???When he said just a week or so ago that HE DISAVOWED THEM did he mean the ones he did not edit or all the news letters???

Maybe the Ron LovePaul Bots ignore all this because…well…
“I’m afraid. I’m afraid, Dave. Dave, my mind is going. I can feel it. I can feel it. My mind is going. There is no question about it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I’m a… fraid.
…Daisy, Daisy give me your answer do…”
