Can’t possibly tell you how proud we are of our mayor here in SD.

  2. Brett says:

He’s probably hoping that if he clings to power, he’ll eventually be able to ride out the news and go back to business as usual.

  3. Tillman says:

You guys just heard about this? This has been on Talking Points Memo for days now, mostly as a counterpoint to how overblown the word “scandal” is when used about Weiner’s sexting.

  4. Jenos Idanian says:

As much as I’d like to link Filner with Weiner and Spitzer and talk about the Democrats’ own War On Women, I had a rather sad thought. Filner’s 70 years old, and will be 71 in a couple of months. One of the rarer early symptoms of Alzheimer’s is hypersexuality. This apparently came out of nowhere, and that could explain his actions.

the Democrats’ own War On Women

It’s true. Democrats want to force women to make their own health care decisions, instead of letting men decide for them as God intended…

  6. Jenos Idanian says:

@anjin-san: Democrats want to force women to make their own health care decisions

Unless that decision is to go without insurance, or take an insurance plan that doesn’t meet the Democrats’ high standards.

Hey, that worked perfectly for David Vitter, Senator from the “family values” state of Louisiana.

  8. legion says:

@Jenos Idanian: That’s actually a reasonable, non-mean-spirited, on-topic comment. What have you done with Jenos?!?

But seriously – if this a brand new thing with this guy, rather than something that’s just been ignored for years, it’s a pretty viable possibility. One hopes such a thing could be determined during this “two weeks of therapy” he’s going to…

  9. Pinky says:

    @Jenos Idanian: From CNN:

Many of the accusations allegedly took place during his five terms in Congress, before he was elected mayor last year.

  10. Jenos Idanian says:

@Pinky: Well, then, hang the SOB. Preferably by the dangly bits.

  11. Eric Florack says:

there does seem to be a bit of a pattern, here.(dry cough) and one the press for all its dirt digging hasnt dared mention.
