Sen. Scott Brown Reveals Childhood Sexual Abuse In Interview

Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown reveals a secret from his past in an upcoming 60 Minutes interview:

Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) reveals that he was sexually abused as a child multiple times in an interview scheduled to air on CBS’ “60 Minutes” on Sunday evening.

In discussing the matter with Lesley Stahl, Brown explains that he hadn’t even told his mother about what happened. The Republican senator recalls suffering sexual abuse on several occasions when he was young by a camp counselor and also living with an abusive stepfather.

“That’s what happens when you’re a victim,” explains Brown of his reluctance to tell his mother what occurred. “You’re embarrassed. You’re hurt.”

Brown certainly deserves kudos for coming forward with this story.

An awful lot of silence from the “Lara Logan deserved it” types. Seems to me that someone who thinks that a good looking blond woman who dares to report from the middle east deserves rape would be willing to say that a kid who grew up to be a Cosmo hunk should have known better than to spend his summer at a camp full of raging hormones.
