Site Tweaks

To make navigation easier, I’ve made some changes to the navigation bar centered between the site logo and the content. Gone are the “POLLS” and “PASSWORDS” links. The former is now incorporated in the “LINKS” page (perhaps to reappear with the next election cycle) and the latter largely obsolescent.

In their stead are “TRAFFIC JAM” and “CONTESTS” links, which go to the category archives for the Beltway Traffic Jam and OTB Caption ContestTM. The rate of posting here is such that these features, designed to be interactive, can be buried in the archives in no time. This should make them more readily accessible and, hopefully, encourage more participation.

Site Tweaks

The blogroll wasn’t loading properly this morning and, even though it’s in the right sidebar and supposed to load after the main posts, was causing disruption to the site. This is an all-too-frequent occurence. I’ve decided to move it off the front page to forestall this. It’s now conveniently located atop the page, along with my RSS feeds and other information that had gotten difficult to locate in the clutter of ads on my sidebars.
