Texas Judge Says Obama’s Re-Election Will Lead To Civil War

A Texas Judge is warning of civil war if President Obama is re-elected:

(CNN) – An elected county judge in Texas is warning that the nation could descend into civil war if President Barack Obama is re-elected, and is calling for a trained, well-equipped force to battle the United Nations troops he says Obama would bring in.

The comments by Lubbock County Judge Tom Head, who oversees emergency planning efforts, were broadcast by CNN affiliate KJTV. He made similar remarks on radio station FOX Talk 950.

Saying that as the county’s emergency management coordinator he has to “think about the very worst thing that can happen and prepare for that and hope and pray for the best,” Head told radio host Jeff Klotzman that he believes “in this political climate and financial climate, what is the very worst thing that could happen right now? Obama gets back in the White House. No. God forbid.”

Referring to unexplained “executive orders” and other documents that Obama and “his minions have filed,” Head said, “regardless of whether the Republicans take over the Senate, which I hope they do, he is going to make the United States Congress and he’s going to make the Constitution irrelevant. He’s got his czars in place that don’t answer to anybody.”

Obama, Head said, will “try to give the sovereignty of the United States away to the United Nations. What do you think the public’s going to do when that happens? We are talking civil unrest, civil disobedience, possibly, possibly civil war … I’m not talking just talking riots here and there. I’m talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms, get rid of the dictator. OK, what do you think he is going to do when that happens? He is going to call in the U.N. troops, personnel carriers, tanks and whatever.”

Head vowed to personally stand “in front of their personnel carriers and say, ‘You’re not coming in here.’ And I’ve asked the sheriff. I said, ‘Are you going to back me on this?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, I’m going to back you.’ Well, I don’t want a bunch of rookies back there who have no training and little equipment. I want seasoned veteran people who are trained that have got equipment. And even then, you know we may have two or three hundred deputies facing maybe a thousand U.N. troops. We may have to call out the militia.”

Sheriff Kelly Rowe told KJTV there had been no conversation about such a civil war scenario.

Perhaps there was, but it took place inside Judge Head’s own head.

Wow, they sure to grow them strange in Texas

This one strikes me as a classic case of nutpicking. Some local-level official in Texas is a crazed wingnut, wow!

If we know that both sides do it, can we please find a liberal judge that has said the equivalent? You know, something like, “I Mitt Romney is elected, he’s going to force all Americans to install car elevators in their homes.”

One thing that every story I have seen on this has missed is that in Texas a County Judge is not part of the legislative branch – he is effectively the CEO for the entire county government. Most of the articles seem to imply that this guy is a municipal court judge or something similar, and refer to him as Judge Head, when his title is County Judge Head.

Basically, every county in Texas has a Commissioner’s Court that is somewhat analagous to a City Council. There are four precinct-based County Comissioners and then an at-large County Judge who oversees the Commissioner’s Court and is responsible for day to day administration of the County.

Is there something in the water down there? ‘Cause, damn, that is some serious, white-jacket-with-long-sleeves candidacy going on there.

  5. Gromitt Gunn says:

@Gromitt Gunn: *Grr. I meant to say that the County Judge is not part of the judicial branch.

This whole election, in fact the Republican party’s message since 1980 has been a repeat of a message we’ve heard before:

A small elite has convinced some poor whites that its more important to fight and die to preserve their one step up from the bottom superiority than it is to improve everyones lot in life. The last time they believed and acted upon this message it cost us over 650,000 lives, shattered the nation and still has repercussions to this day.

My fear is their misplaced belief this time may have already cost us the planet (Climate Change).

But remember, this isn’t despicable. Criticizing a fabulously wealthy man over all the legal things he did to save on taxes, thats what’s despicable.

This guy? Well, we know what the Texas Republican platform has to say about teaching critical thinking skills and challanging fixed beliefs, so I think this guy turned out exactly as Republicans would have wanted.

Actually, I think you also got it wrong.

His actual title is County Jughead.

The early polling that indicates Akin might still win in MO strikes me as something that can’t be ignored. It may well be that a large portion of this country has evolved in such a different way from that of another large portion there really isn’t a viable nation here anymore.

What if the coasts linked up with Canada and made a kind of horse-shoe shaped nation? That would split the oil.

  12. Scott O says:

@Gromitt Gunn: One of Judge Head’s responsibilities:

“Conducts mental competency hearings and other mental health related duties prescribed by law”

    On others one presumes.

Nice……When the Wolverines are aiming their rocket launcher at the helicopter, however, they might be surprised to see the ole stars and bars on the tail fin.

    Idiots.

  14. Gustopher says:

The County Judge might be right — crazed lunatics like himself might wage war on the government, and need to be put down.

    Also, czars.

I’d be all for shedding the US of the South. They have been holding this country back since the beginning of the country’s founding first with slavery, then with their major love affair with racism and extreme conservatism to the point of voting against their own interests.

If the South secedes this time around, can we please not go into another war to bring back what we don’t want back and what clearly doesn’t want to be part of the US anyways?

Lincoln made a mistake when he did not let the South secede.
