THE ARMY’S GAMBLE: James Kitfield has a superb behind the scenes look at the planning and logistics of the current campaign. The audacity and fluidity of the strategy is remarkable. The debate about the TipFid toward the end is particularly instructive; it’s the best explanation I’ve seen about why some of the generals are unhappy with Rumsfeld.
