Two Million iPads Sold In 59 Days

Once again, Apple is on the winning side of the latest consumer electronics fad:

CUPERTINO, Calif. (AP) — Apple said Monday that iPad sales have topped 2 million since its release nearly two months ago.

The company began selling the iPad in Asia and Europe on Friday after its release in the United States April 3.

A company representative was not immediately available Monday to say what portion of the sales were abroad.

To date, the iPad has sold more units at a faster rate than the first generation iPhone.
