When you’re running a political campaign, any political campaign, the one thing you hope to God never happens is that some photographer snaps a picture of your candidate at an inconvenient moment.

  1. KansasMom says:

Wonder what the dude behind her is thinking? I’m sure we’ll see bubble captions inserted soon.

  2. John Peabody says:

    Again with the Beavis-Butthead humor?

  3. reid says:

    She’s got my vote!

  4. Ed Edson says:

This is so low brow, so demeaning, and really beneath our mora… screw it, bring on the animated gif version!

  5. EddieInCA says:

    Could have been much worse.

Imagine the same photograph with Marcus Bachmann instead of Michelle.

  6. PJ says:

I dare you to pick that photo for the OTB Caption Contest.

  7. michael reynolds says:

    And Photoshop in 5…4..3…2…

  8. ernieyeball says:

Just saw a flash that our girl won the Ames Sausage Pole…er…Poll by a Link!

  9. Hey, people normally accuse the Republicans of eating caviar. At least that’s not the case here.

  10. Jay Tea says:

This would be even more hysterical if it was Michelle Obama. Or Barney Frank.

    J.

  11. michael reynolds says:

    @Jay Tea:
    Michelle Obama. Because . . .?

  12. signalfire says:

    Viral. Please dear god. Viral.

Or Marcus Bachmann…oops, I see that already happened…oh well, at least Rick Santorum is smart enough not to go near this type of thing…

  15. Tsar Nicholas II says:

Wow. This is the most obvious and ironic example of DSM-defined “projection” by a left-wing blogger I’ve ever seen. There are layers upon layers of psychoses at work here.

On a different but related topic, Iowa yet again has proven that small states solely possessing taxpayer-subsidized industries should not be allowed to have disproportionate sway over national general elections. The fact that Bachmann and Paul finished 1-2 in this dog and pony show is prima facie evidence that the right-wing demographic in Iowa is a farce. The only saving grace is the neither Bachmann nor Paul have one iota of a chance ultimately of being the nominee. Thank goodness.

We need serious reforms to the primary and nomination processes. Before it’s too late.

  16. signalfire says:

    @Tsar Nicholas II:

Your psychoanalysis aside, getting your picture taken when in full-blown campaign mode DOING THAT calls into question your common sense (not to mention your campaign manager’s ability to get you elected…

That woman just blew (you should excuse the expression) her campaign.
    WITH ONE PICTURE….

At least now we’ll know who Deep Throat was.

  17. Lgbpop says:

And for the Democrats – Barney Frank and Anthony Weiner….

  18. Chadzilla says:

Uh, how is this NOT the next caption contest?

  19. “Michelle Obama. Because . . .? ”

That´s unhealthy as it can be. As a foreigner, I´m shocked to see the food that´s served in these State Fairs.

  20. Richard Gardner says:

Having done a few RAGBRAIs in Iowa, to me the ultimate Iowa food is a 1.25″ thick Poooooooork Choooooppp from Mr Pork Chop cooked over a grill. Quite good and healthy. Standing by for the candidates next year doing 10 miles of RAGBRAI (10 of a 500 mile bicycle ride).

    Agree, awful photo.

  21. A voice from another precinct says:

I don’t even like Michelle Bachmann at all and I still feel sad for her. That’s just SO bad.

  22. Jay Tea says:

That pretty much sums it up. Mrs. Obama because its’s so unhealthy; Mr. Frank because if it’s funny to link the fellatio analogy to someone who’s being called gay pretty much based on a slight speech impediment, it should be even funnier to link it to an actual gay person with a similar speech impediment.

Nice to see the dismissive sexualizing of conservative women continues apace…

    As does your shrill whining.

Say Jay, did you ever summon the courage to go talk to some black guys and ask them what they thought of your Michelle Obama “Brown Sugar” comment?

Wait! Jay… courage… what the hell am I thinking?

  24. Jay Tea says:

@anjin-san: Tell you what — after you go up to Michele Bachmann (gotta remember – 1 L, 2 N’s) and call her a fag hag and her husband’s beard, I’ll consider it.

    Fair enough?

    J.

  25. Shocked says:

    @Lgbpop:

    Hey Lgpop…

Funny about that picture, as it made me notice that the icon that you use for your ID sure looks a lot like an outline of two testicles and a penis.

    Coincidence?

  26. Alex Knapp says:

I think her lack of understanding of basic government accounting principles is more embarrassing than this photo. Let’s face it: nobody looks good eating a corn dog.

  27. G.A.Phillips says:

lol, she is showing how 99.9% of you libs on this site worship Obama!

  28. vanderleun says:

    “Could have been much worse.

Imagine the same photograph with Marcus Bachmann instead of Michelle.”

Make that Michelle Obama and you’re on.

  29. Bruce says:

She has my vote on the basis of this picture alone.
